Striking WRC 3 footage released

Rally round.

Milestone's allowed a fresh glimpse of its forthcoming official off-roader WRC 3, and it's revealed a fine looking driving game that seems some way removed from the series low budget roots.

This generation of WRC series began when Milestone picked up the license in 2010, and it's produced two fairly pedestrian games so far - the first game picked up a 7, and its sequel scraped a 6. They're typical efforts from the Italian developer that specialises in the racing genre - both were praised for their authenticity and a competent handling model, though their presentation was deemed to be a little lacking.

WRC 3 may well buck that trend, though. The new video shows a 2012 Ford Fiesta WRC car, as driven by Petter Solberg in the series, attacking a stage of the Rally de Espana, and it's a remarkably pretty game. WRC 3 is slated for release on PC, PS3, Xbox 360 and Vita - and it's coming out on 12th October, courtesy of publisher PQube.
