State of Decay 2 is coming to Xbox One and Windows 10 in 2017

Expect a "larger, more dangerous and more unpredictable" world.

State of Decay 2 has been confirmed by Microsoft at Xbox's E3 press conference, and is coming as an Xbox One and Windows 10 exclusive.

It's being helmed once again by Undead Labs, and offering more third-person, open-world zombie survival gameplay in a world that's "larger, more dangerous and more unpredictable", according to a letter from studio founder Jeff Strain.

It also features drop-in co-operative multiplayer with up to three others and, as with the first game, a story that remembers the choices you make.

News of State of Decay 2 was leaked alongside Dead Rising 4 earlier this week.

State of Decay 2 won't release until 2017, you can catch up with State of Decay Year-One Survival Edition, which is also on Xbox One and PC. You can see the first trailer and screens below, as well as other announcements from the show as part of our E3 schedule guide.
