Stardew Valley 1.5 hopefully arriving on consoles "late this month or early next month"

Update now submitted for certification.

Stardew Valley creator Eric "ConcernedApe" Barone says the celebrated farm-life sim's mammoth 1.5 update has finally been submitted for console certification, and will hopefully release "late this month or early next month".

Barone delighted Stardew Valley fans on PC with a surprise pre-Christmas launch for the game's long-teased 1.5 update at the tail-end of last year, and console players have been eagerly awaiting its arrival on their platform of choice ever since.

That excitement is entirely understandable; Stardew Valley's 1.5 release is another enormous update for the beloved game, introducing a raft of new features including local split-screen co-op, a new beach-themed farm layout, late-game home renovations, new characters and events, new music, "remixed" game options, and more.

Barone confirmed Stardew Valley 1.5 had been submitted for console certification in a tweet posted over the weekend, but warned that the process "can take a variable amount of time so I can't make any guarantee about release date". He did, however, offer that "my original estimate of late this month or early next month is likely, though".

All being well, Stardew Valley's 1.5 update should arrive on Switch, Xbox, and PlayStation relatively soon then, and a mobile release has also been confirmed. However, as of late December last year, the latter had "no release estimate yet."
