Spider-Man studio Insomniac responds to sexual harassment allegations

Has "taken numerous steps to address them".

Insomniac Games, developer of Marvel's Spider-Man and Ratchet & Clank, has responded to a former employee's allegations of sexual harassment while at the studio.

The claim, posted on Twitter, referred to the alleged actions of "at least three" staff, whom Insomniac had allegedly "protected". Two of these staff are no longer at the company. A detailed summary of one former employee's alleged actions was included. Other former employees later spoke up to support the alleged claims.

Writing on Twitter shortly afterwards, Insomniac issued a statement to say it was aware of the allegations - and had taken "numerous steps to address them".

"We were aware of the allegations made in a former employee's tweets today and had taken numerous steps to address them," the studio wrote. "For legal and privacy reasons we will not respond to individual allegations about specific former employees.

"We are a workplace family that has actively promoted diversity, inclusion, representation and equality for our entire existence. We will continue to do so every single day."

The statement comes as part of a fresh wave of #metoo allegations - in the games industry and elsewhere - as those affected by sexual harassment and assault share their experiences. Yesterday, multiple studios distanced themselves from writer Chris Avellone after allegations of harassment surfaced.
