Sony announces Vita game Jacob Jones and the Bigfoot Mystery

From former Bizarre Creations developers at Lucid Games.

UPDATE: Lucid Games has clarified that an iOS version of Jacob Jones and the Bigfoot Mystery will be released on the same day as the Vita version.

ORIGINAL STORY: Sony has announced Vita game Jacob Jones and the Bigfoot Mystery, due out in May.

It's an episodic adventure puzzle game made by Lucid Games, the Liverpool-based studio that formed from the ashes of the closure of Project Gotham Racing and Blur creator Bizarre Creations.

The game features a 3D world in which Jacob Jones, a small boy, and his friend Biggie, can explore. The story, which sees Jacob go to summer camp on an adventure, was penned by the BAFTA-nominated writer George Poles (The 11 O'Clock Show, Rory Bremner, Bird and Fortune, Smack the Pony, Have I Got News For You?).

Lucid used Unreal Engine 3 to build the game, and has made use of the Vita's touch and tilt features for gameplay.

Lucid Games formed in early 2011 after Activision closed Bizarre Creations. The founder members were behind games including Geometry Wars, the Project Gotham Racing series, Blur and James Bond 007: Blood Stone.
