Skyward Sword coming this holiday

New Zelda timed for 25th anniversary.

The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword, the new Wii installment of Nintendo’s long-running adventure series, will be launching the end of this year.

Its release will cap off the year of The Legend of Zelda’s 25th anniversary, with releases coming to all of Nintendo’s platforms.

The announcement came during a stirring start to Nintendo’s E3 press conference, with a full orchestra performing music from the series to a packed audience in LA’s Nokia Theater.

A specially branded golden Wii Remote will be launched alongside the game.

The 3DS will be getting The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time 3D, as well as a port of the Game Boy classic Link’s Awakening, while the DS will get a port of the cult classic Four Swords Adventure.
