Sid Meier's Pirates! coming to the Wii

New features in autumn 2010 release.

2K Games has announced that a version of Sid Meier's classic high seas adventure Pirates! will be come to the Wii in the autumn.

"We are big fans of the Wii and think Pirates! is the perfect game to bring to that platform," Firaxis bossman Sid Meier said in a press release. "We’re sure Wii fans will enjoy the timeless adventure of being a pirate captain on the high seas as much as all of our other fans have!”

The Wii version, being developed by 2K China, will include all the mini-games from the original PC release as well as two new ones designed for the Wii: Bombardment and Lock Picking. The Wii version will also include new character and ship customisation options, according to the announcement.

The game has already received a PEGI 12+ rating.
