SI has no Vita Football Manager plans

"We're doing another PSP game this year."

Sports Interactive hasn't got a version of Football Manager in development - or in the pipeline - for PlayStation Vita, Eurogamer can reveal.

Studio boss Miles Jacobson said a decision about whether to develop on Vita will be made once Sony's new handheld has launched.

"At the moment, there aren't any plans for [a Vita Football Manager game]," Jacobson told Eurogamer.

"We've never been early adopters when it comes to new platforms. We've got a Vita dev kit - well we had a Vita dev kit, I'm not sure if we still do have beta dev kits.

"It's something that we'll look at once [Vita is] out."

"So," he added, "no plans at the moment, but who knows what the future holds."

Football Manager has a history on Sony's handheld hardware. In 2006, a tailored PSP experience was released as Football Manager Handheld, which scored 8/10 on Eurogamer. And PSP releases of Football Manager have followed every year since.

Judging by Jacobson's comments, this year - with Football Manager 2012 - will be no different.

"We're doing another PSP game this year, so we're still on the first PSP rather than the new one," said Jacobson, presumably referring to FM 2012.

Football Manager 2012 was announced this week. Platforms weren't specified, and we were promised a launch before Christmas 2011.

PlayStation Vita won't be released in Europe until early 2012.
