Rygar revamped for Wii in June

Tecmo's action-adventure returns.

Rising Star plans to release a Wii revamp of Tecmo action adventure game Rygar here in June.

Subtitled The Battle of Argus, this incarnation has new combat techniques and enemies, as well as a Gladiator mode with hordes of foes to hack and slash through.

Wii arm-waving has been added, with various gestures bossing obstacle navigation and others commanding the iconic Diskarmour Shield that batters opponents.

Rygar: The Legendary Adventure, the PS2 original, popped up back in 2002/3, and earned 8/10 from Eurogamer; our only concerns were a shonky camera and slightly wonky pacing.

The Wii conversion - Rygar: The Battle of Argus - was released across the US earlier this month and has a Metacritic average of 55 per cent - feels like a six year-old game, apparently.

Looks a bit like one, too - as our Rygar: The Battle of Argus gallery shows.
