RuneScape's combat system being "completely redesigned"

"Will fundamentally change the way people play and view RS forever."

Getting stuck in, as they say.

Landmark browser MMO RuneScape is soon to undergo one of its biggest changes ever. The Evolution of Combat project will "completely revolutionise the way players fight and interact in the game".

That's the boast.

Exactly how that will work isn't detailed. There's talk of "a more fluid, interactive and tactical combat system". It's going to "fundamentally change the way people view RuneScape forever," said lead designer Mark Ogilvie.

A limited access closed beta to test this Evolution of Combat update will begin on 26th June. RuneScape members can put their names down for it from 1st June. The beta will run until September.

Screenshots associated with the press release show combat metamorphoses and stances. Clues? We haven't the foggiest.
