Rocksteady isn't developing Superman and won't be announcing anything at The Game Awards
It's not a bird. It's not a plane. And - "spoiler - it's not Superman".
Rocksteady's co-founder and game director, Sefton Hill, has confirmed the studio will not be making an appearance at The Game Awards, and told his followers that despite the rumours, the studio's latest project is not Superman.
"Looking forward to #TheGameAwards this year!" tweeted Hill. "We're still hard at work in our development bunker so don't expect an announcement from @Rocksteadygames. When it's ready to show, you'll be the first to know. Spoiler: it's not Superman."

Rumour had it Rocksteady was busy at work on a new Superman game, and recently advertised 20+ job listings that covered a whole range of disciplines, including coding, scriptwriting, and community management. All specifications made reference to a presently unannounced AAA title and stated the mystery game would be available on "next generation platforms".
Several of the positions were fixed-term for a two year period, which perhaps had been indicative of an approximate, if tentative, window of release. Now it seems we'll have a longer wait before Rocksteady is ready to share.
The UK studio had also initially been linked to leaked footage of a new Harry Potter game, but that rumour too was quashed. Curiouser and curiouser.
The Game Awards is set to take place on 6th December (which is very early on 7th December for those of us in the UK). The event promises ten all-new game announcements, one of which is thought to be new Alien game, Alien Blackout.
