Rocksteady confirms it is working on a Suicide Squad game

Set for reveal later in August.

Rocksteady has confirmed an earlier Eurogamer report it is working on a Suicide Squad game.

In a tweet showing an image of a decrepit-looking Superman with a target on his head, the Batman Arkham developer revealed the Suicide Squad game will be announced on 22nd August, during the DC Fandome event.

In June, Eurogamer's Tom Phillips rubber-stamped a domain name-fuelled rumour that Rocksteady was working on a game centred on DC's Suicide Squad.

"I've heard that one particular phrase registered as a domain - 'SuicideSquadKillTheJusticeLeague.com' - is a contender for the game's final title, and a good summation of what you can expect Rocksteady's next big project to be about," Phillips said.

This ties in with the poster, which suggests you can kill Superman. Or could that be Bizarro?

Other domains registered include "SuicideSquadGame.com" and "GothamKnightsGame.com".

So, what can we expect from this DC event? Expect to see a little of WB Games Montreal's Gotham Knights, which while unannounced has been continually hyped via various "Court of Owls" hints for more than a year.

And expect to see very little of Rocksteady's Suicide Squad, which is further off from launch. Both projects are being developed for next-gen consoles.
