Retailers point to black Wii for US

New colour set to arrive on 9th May.

Information from multiple retailers indicates that the black Wii system already available in Japan and Europe is set to hit the United States on 9th May.

Multiple employees at retailers Target and FYE confirmed to Eurogamer that their inventory systems show a black version of the Wii being available in less than two weeks.

The box will reportedly retail for $199.99 and include a copy of Wii Sports Resort, a black Remote and a black Wii Motion Plus accessory, according to the retail sources. It's unclear at this point whether the original Wii Sports will also be included in the bundles.

Nintendo did not respond to a request for comment, but we should expect an official announcement soon enough if these reports pan out.

A Kotaku report suggests that the black Wii will hit Canada on 23rd May. Eurogamer was unable to confirm this information as of press time.

The black systems would seem to be a natural fit for the black Remotes and Nunchuks that have been available in the US for months now.
