Renegade Kid regains rights to Moon, announces plans for sequel

Though it's not yet in development.

Mutant Mudds and Dementium developer Renegade Kid has regained the rights to its 2009 DS first-person sci-fi shooter Moon.

Previously, the IP was owned by the original game's publisher Mastiff.

Renegade Kid co-founder Jools Watsham made the announcement on Twiiter. "Save your energy. Renegade Kid gains Moon rights back in 2014," he wrote.

This is not simply a precaution in case it decides to do a sequel, but one is already planned. "It has always been our plan to create a sequel to Moon. Never could convince the pub to go for it. Come 2014 we're in control," Watsham added.

He noted that this sequel is "not currently in development. But, at least we'll now have the ability to do so soon."

Currently Renegade Kid is working on couple of 3DS e-Shop offerings including retro platformer Treasurenauts, due in Q4, and the first-person horror game Cult County, due in early 2014.
