I'd be interested in that Mario Rabbids game making the jump to mobile. Seems like it would be the perfect fit like X-COM and Invisible Inc.

Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp now has two in-game events running

varsas

I didn't spend any Leaf tickets until after I unlocked Slider and Nook and that just took a few days fulfilling the daily goals and initial easy stretch goals.

I'm far from unlocking everything but am working my way through to the special items that I want to display in the camp.

Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp review

varsas

@Shagsmith That wasn't my intention. I just disagree with the line "And then there's simplification to make the game easier to monetise". Shortcuts via the microtransactions are portrayed as being essential when I don't think they are at all. If one plays it in the leisurely way that other AC games are played then I think the experience is mostly the same.

EDIT: I dip into the game for 15 mins in the morning, afternoon and evening. The game does lack some features as highlighted in the review but some of these can easily be added. One that people have mentioned is the museum or similar; perhaps that'll be a new area of new part of the interface to allow players to see what they've collected.

Bringing up Slider and Nook again? Seriously, I have both and didn't buy lead tickets. There are enough from levelling and stretch goals. I'm also only playing with 1 crafting slot, why is there any need to rush in an Animal Crossing game? That's the wrong mentality entirely.

@Xboxfanuk For me the point is customisation to your character and your camp.

@PrimalxConvoy There is fishing and one can visit friends.

There's no museum but there is a missing feature to see all the types of bugs caught so that might be added later.

I didn't pay anything to get Slider and Nook; simply playing the game at a leisurely pace was enough to acquire the necessary leaf tickets.

@mega-gazz It's likely the publisher is only paying for the publishing and advertising; though it would be good if they did pay for some development to hit the stretch goals in the same way THQ Nordic have done for Battlechasers.

Pokémon Go Plus accessory delayed until September

varsas

@adwodon I would think it is possible for a device with embedded code to directly communicate with the servers via the phone's data connection.

Given say how notifications on smartwatches work with phone apps being on in the background I expect we'll see an update to the app if there isn't a way to communicate directly.

Swarm/Foursquare can use GPS without being open or running in the background i.e. visible when the overview button is pressed in Android, so I don't see why Pokemon Go can't work.

This looks beautiful. The live feed shows off lots of interesting gameplay, also shows the world is not as quiet as the trailer.

Of the openworld RPGs I've only really played Witcher 3 and the interactivity here doesn't exist there e.g. being able to climb anything and being able to chop trees. Any games have that level?
