| The guy is like some next level ninja with his total command of the game and it's just a joy to behold that level of mastery. Also, is there a better game to spend 5000 hours on? Probably not - it's a fucking bullet-proof masterpiece. Congrats to the fella! |

I do care for a next-gen medieval RPG with no fantasy
| Looks like is has a more cinematic feel to it with storming the castles, combat and riding horseback which Skyrim doesn't and so desperately needs for future installments. It obviously won't have the millions upon millions lavished upon it like the aforementioned top-dog, but it looks like it could be vastly more accomplished in the mechanics. Here's hoping they can deliver. |

Watch Dogs boss compares its Chicago map to GTA 5's scale
|
@jrb You're absolutely right. The world is rather empty in GTA 5 and it isn't compelling enough to explore every nook and cranny as a result. Random events do happen but infrequently and are hardly memorable. It needs more interactivity built into the actual world to really bring it alive. As it stands GTA 5 is a good game but the template is showing its age drastically. The flipping between 3 different characters is a great idea and is always fun outside of the missions to see what they're up to, but they don't seem to utilize it in ever more elaborate and interesting ways inside the main missions, which is a great shame, as they definitely had something there. GTA 3 is one of the greatest and most influential games ever made, but they can't seem to push the genre they helped create and master - forward. Watchdogs looks really interesting and hopefully will have something worthwhile to add to the open world genre, though, being Ubisoft, and the endless filler that has made up the later Assassin's Creed games, I'm not holding my breath. |

Resistance Collection coming to North America in early December
|
@el_pollo_diablo Just pumped 5 hours into the third one just now and it's a surprisingly great game. Different from the first and second which is great as they were average IMO. It's hugely atmospheric and owes rather a lot to Half Life 2. The gun-play is really good and there's been some knockout set pieces - that, while epic, they never dilute the atmosphere. I'd just avoid the second as you're not missing much but I really wouldn't pass up this one up. |

Dreamfall Chapters will be a single-player adventure game for PC and Mac
|
@ragnartørnquist Really enjoyed the story and atmosphere of Dreamfall despite its technical and mechanical flaws. Not many games match it in those respects for me. Good luck with the latest endeavor! |

'Dreamfall Chapters will be a meaty, offline, single-player PC and Mac adventure game.' \0/ 'It won't be point-and-click but a full 3D third-person affair.' /0\ 'There won't, however, be any combat.' \0/ Two out of three ain't bad. Can't wait for this! |

Beneath a Steel Sky 2 is officially happening
|
@lucky_jim Yeah - you're right. Crazy, thinking about it now - especially for a point and click where you go from screen to screen in a desperate attempt to push things forward. I remember, after making considerable progress disk 8 was faulty and being devastated at the time. No wonder I've suppressed it! ;) |

|
@FatalHybrid I played it on the Amiga and having to load 5 or so different disks just to move from one (most) screen(s) to another didn't even diminish its greatness. First point and click I ever played and still one of the best! |

Batman: Arkham City follow-up to be next-gen Justice League prequel - report
| Not liking the sound of this one bit. I just can't see how this roster of colourful heroes would fit in with the gritty style they honed with the Arkham games. Unless they're aiming for a complete new style/direction. Colour me underwhelmed/unconvinced for now... |

After all that, I will definitely play this game. I can't wait. |

Carmack takes aim at "snooty" indies
|
"Speaking in an interview with IndustryGamers, Carmack argued that a developer's job is to make games that people love and are willing to open their wallets for, not games that push boundaries". Fucking hell. Let's not push boundaries or try anything even remotely creative, just churn out the same shit time and time again. The developers will just know when to alter the template when the public stop screaming: 'moar, moar' when Doom 435 is released. |

@geeza2020's "So, this isn't a goodbye. It isn't The End. Instead, it's the very beginning of a new journey that will stretch the limits of what we are capable of. Ancient engines are now rumbling deep within the heart of our studio, and their energy will power us through the upcoming darkness. Like all dark times ours will be broken first by a single strand of light – a tether reaching out to bind us all together again. "One day, we will awaken in a wondrous new place and we will remember just what it was that drew us together at the beginning of it all. We will look up to the heavens, and find hope." ''If anyone can read this without wanting to vomit all over their keyboards, I think you need some help.'' Ha. It is truly hilarious. That they can write this drivel and release it to the world suggests an insane lack of perception. It’s like a giant spoof, only it’s not... |
