God of War review: astonishing technological craft in the service of simple pleasures

tinyspark

Iím intrigued by this...despite not really liking the original games that much what are my chances of liking this? Is the gameplay mechanic changed in some way similar to the way RE4 totally changed the way Resident Evil games played (I didnít love the first 3 resident evils, a blasphemy I know, but totally loved 4)

Wipeout VR is 100% successful wish fulfilment. Hereís my remaining VR wishlist

A decent Ridge Racer (not that unbounded pish)
Star Wars (10 or so missions of the same calibre as the battlefront VR mission in one package)
Full game of Playrooms Robot Rescue
Burnout Paradise VR patch would be nice too.

This is probably the best ever free VR update, however I would pay good money for some 2097 and Wip3out DLC.

@ProjectTwentyFiveOne pretty much did exactly the same. Had a wee go before bed that turned into a solid two hour session. The only discomfort I experienced was a sore jaw from ear to ear grinning.

I actually can't believe how well this turned out in VR. Played a solid two hours last night, didn't get sick (I'm fairly VR tolerant) but got a sore jaw from grinning ear to ear. VR game of the year.

@Zapatero it's baffling that EA aren't considering a standalone Star Wars VR game based on the engine used in that mission. 10 VR Star Wars missions of that calibre in one game has the potential to be the the best Star Wars game ever.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 review

tinyspark

@Diddykong they need take what they learned from that VR mission and release a standalone VR game, doesn't even have to a big game, ten classic vehicle based missions say. I'd buy the shit out of that. That would be almost a million guaranteed sales right there cos it's what everyone with a PSVR is gagging for. Not touching SWBF II with a ten foot pole though.

It's still a travesty and a massive con that such a device should be needed at all. Given that this device proves there was no actual technical reason why old wheels couldn't work Sony and MS should be ashamed of themselves.

"I've seen people literally spend $15,000 on Mass Effect multiplayer cards"

tinyspark

@pelican_ Because nobody, no matter how minted they are, spends 15 grand on, let me stress this once more, ABSOLUTELY FUCK ALL OF NO USE WHATSOEVER, and doesn't regret it. Not unless they are devoid of all common sense, intelligence and humanity (I'm mean I think we can think of better things to spend a spare 15k on). If people are spending that kind of money on worthless digital tat without realising how fucking dumb they are then I truly despair.
8 3

tinyspark

@pelican_ I suspect that the person in question thoroughly regrets spending 15grand on fuck all when he came to his senses/sobered up.
7 0

tinyspark

@pelican_ no game, no matter how much "content" is provided, is worth £15000. It is greedy and is exploitative of people with compulsive behaviours and people who don't know any better. Yes they are satisfying their shareholders, they are faceless bean counters who should have no place in an industry that should be able to turn a profit with good art, passion and fun.
7 0

tinyspark

Anyone daft enough to spunk 15 grand on multiplayer cards deserve all they get.....and all they get is £15 grands worth of fuck all of any use.
EA are, however, utter greedy cunts in having that much in-game purchases available just to exploit idiots.

@clapiotis a mighty fine high steed you have there fella. First of all, hacking a device you own isn't illegal. Using roms is of course illegal but the crime is copyright infringement, not theft as your bad bank robbing analogy suggests.
