The Touryst arrives on Xbox One and PC - and it's an excellent port

| The kicker here is that the conversions were done with DX12 in mind - so despite being “light on GPU” it requires a DX12 GPU. It crashes out if your hardware isn’t compatible (ie Intel graphics on a laptop) |

TT Isle of Man review - motorsport's greatest challenge is brought to vivid life
|
@UncleLou in addition to porkface’s comment someone once told me that actually steering a motorbike is backwards - most of it’s done in the lean and you end up turning the handlebars the opposite way to stay balanced. So a handlebar controller would be counter-intuitive. Disclaimer: I don’t ride motorbikes so I’m purely going off what someone told me once. |

Meltdown and Spectre: does patching your PC impact game performance?
| One more time, this is NOT a browser exploit. This is a CPU hardware exploit. You could run rogue code on a shared tenant cloud service that can pull encryption keys from ANY other instance (be that VM, microservice, elastic db... whatever) on that hardware without the target even knowing. That’s why this exploit is so dangerous. |

@Yfel like I said before the impact to gamers comes from the increased time it now takes to access the file system. Which is why I’m baffled that load times weren’t disclosed in the article. I spend a large portion of my day writing code for a large enterprise system running on multiple customer sites both on-premise and in-cloud. Compile tiles are the least of my worries when these patches could increase the monthly cost of the customers’ cloud hosting by 30% |
1
0
| @Yfel you’re missing a key attack vector in all this - the severity of the issue is critical in multi tenant cloud services. You could literally read passwords from another cloud instance by setting up a rogue vm and exploiting meltdown - you wouldn’t even need to gain access to the other instance, just read its memory. That’s why this is such a big deal. |

| Nothing mentioned about loading times which is where the real performance hits will be seen... |
