Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash review

My copy arrived yesterday - having loved Mario Open Tennis on the 3DS, this game so far is quite a disappointment. I played mario tennis on the 3DS a lot, and it seemed more skillful as I wouldn't opt for the chance shots, e.g. if a lob came up as a chance shot and I'd see the opponent backing off, I'd charge up a drop shot instead, this kind off tactic doesn't work in Ultra smash and the players seem to always get there in time. I'm not sure if the star characters will change that (I doubt by much). And unless I'm missing something theres no equipment to unlock, at least in Open, there was a decent amount off unlockables. Shame really. |

| I've got this game, downloaded it to test the new C stick on my New 3DS XL. Hopefully he will release a region free exploit - there's a few Japanese games I want to try - but having updated my 3DS for smash I can no longer use the browser exploit and dont want to pay £50 for cubic ninja. |

Can we not turn this into the train-wreck that is the sales comment section? As with the case with most Nintendo consoles, it's worth buying for the first party games but won't keep you busy all year round. Anyways, really enjoying 3D world, played it with wife and kids during the weekend, its brilliant and suits multiplayer perfectly as during tricky bits characters can just jump in a bubble to float beside the player that has to do the hard bits. So fun for all :) |

Edit: Neg me all you want, I own a Wii U (for the handful of decent 1st party games), Xbox 360 and thinking about a PS4 in the new year, couldn't careless about which "brand" I buy next, I'll just get what ever has the games that appeal to me the most. |

That's a shame, as 3D world looks fantastic and has reviewed pretty well. Wii U is similar to all nintendo consoles, worth buying for the gaming gold that is mario but not a lot else, I guess the difference is the games are too far a few in between. Good to see the 3DS still selling well, its one of my favourite consoles ever. |

Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare gets Xbox One release date

Not sure about this, doesn't look anything to do with Plants vs Zombies, I'm not a fan of shooters so may give this a miss. It's a shame, as I really liked the first Plants vs Zombies, but gave up on the second as micro-transactions killed it, and took the fun/skill out of the game. |
