EGX 2018: The best games from this year's show
| @rep- I can understand your concern but it doesn't generally work like that in practice -- it's often a country by country decision or there are other factors such as date, developer availability etc. I'm very confident that Berlin isn't the reason Resi 2 wasn't at EGX, for example. |

| @DanSmith09 We tweak the numbers of each ticket type, the layout of the show and the content mix each year, so it's great that you (and others) have noticed the improvements! I will make sure the feedback is registered regarding the bag checks, though. The venue should have been checking every bag going in. |

| @freer_factor Thanks for the feedback re: super passes. Regarding big name games being held back, that is entirely the decision of the publisher... we'd of course love to have those games at EGX in the UK as well (and do work to ensure we have as many games as possible) but in this case we weren't able to secure them. |

10 things you must do at EGX 2016
|
@sizu_sizu As I said previously we totally understand the negative feedback. We're not deaf to it (believe me!) but just didn't have much to add to what's already been said. By way of further explanation, we broadly had two options open to us: 1) Allow him to attend the show 2) Don't allow him to attend the show After some discussion we chose the first option. It wasn't a clear cut decision and I respect that you disagree with the choice we made. However, to choose the alternative would also set it's own less than ideal precedent. Before any of the controversy happened many people had already bought tickets in order to meet him and to cancel would be very disappointing to them. And for those who aren't interested in seeing him, the rest of the show is genuinely a massive celebration of games and gaming that I think/hope people will enjoy - as demonstrated by Oli's top 10 list above. Although he is still listed on the EGX site we did stop pro-actively promoting his attendance. And clearly there will be a decision to be made for future shows - but that will depend on how things develop from here. Apologies that it has taken so long to respond, the last few weeks have been quite full on (if you're attending the show you'll see why tomorrow) but weirdly a few hours before the doors open is a strangely quiet time. The next few days will again be very busy but I'm happy to answer further questions/points when I get chance/after the show. Rupert |

PlayStation 4 Pro makes UK debut at EGX 2016 this month
|
@sizu_sizu Happy to comment. The article says quite clearly, "For transparency: EGX is a game show organised by Gamer Network, which is the company that owns Eurogamer." I am happy with the explicit disclosure of the link between EGX and Eurogamer which makes it clear to anyone reading this article (or similar EGX-related articles) that Sony (and more than 100 other companies) are exhibiting at the event. This disclosure gives you the information you need as the reader to make up your mind whether this article is relevant to you and/or changes your opinion of this article or the content on the site. FWIW, I personally don't think that the Eurogamer editorial team writing about a significant European debut showing of a brand new gaming platform in any way affects their ability to cover that platform neutrally. There are countless examples of media partnerships between websites/magazines and events in all industries. |

EGX 2016 tickets go on sale
|
@Sci0n The 10am and 11am queues will be better segregated this year, plus the wristbands will be different, so this shouldn't happen again. @mattsharper Actually, last year did sell out all other than Thursday tickets. We've made changes to the capacities and ticket types (and screen capacity) to improve the queue situation for 2016 - but I understand we'll have to demonstrate that in order to win you back. |

| @Sci0n We are better separating out the entry queues to try to prevent this and for it to be clearer as to where to go depending on what ticket you have |

| @carrot1401 We've actually never offered a VM discount on super passes - only 4x half-price day tickets were offered in the past (which is what we're doing again this year). It's a saving of £25 which is the same as last year (although the prices have increased slightly). |

@rotmm We've reduced the number of early access tickets for each day by a bit this year. I don't think it was half the number of dev sessions but we did drop the midday session in favour of starting at 1pm (at Earls Court it was hard to guarantee everyone would be in and ready for a seated session an hour after doors opened given it was a big walk to the sessions theatre). At the NEC in hindsight we probably could have managed it as the sessions were on the show floor and on every day other than Saturday people were in the hall very quickly. And yes, we dropped some of the very late in the day ones a few years back as historically the 6pm slot wasn't too popular. Too early to know the exact numbers for this year but I think we'll definitely do 5 per day and possibly 6 on Sat if possible as it's the most popular day (and the day that people stay for longest). We agree that the ticket pricing is about right but there are of course add-on costs which depend on people's individual circumstances. We have negotiated a multi-day discount for parking with the NEC for this year following feedback, but is still only a tiny fraction of the overall spend if you're talking about ticket + parking + food/drink. |

@TheTingler Book in advance for best price, plus also there's a 25% discount with Virgin Trains: "A discount of 25% on Advance Fare tickets is available to those travelling on the West Coast Main Line via Virgin Trains. Visit the Virgin Trains website for details." |

| IronGiant/Gamblix: FWIW: https://www.egx.net/egx/news/egx-2015-thanks-for-your-feedback - also we have reduced the number of Sat/Sun day tickets and re-introduced afternoon tickets, as that was the busiest period (plus extended Sat&Sun opening times for an additional hour). |

| @nickthegun Yep, if every game attracted the same number of people the queues would be totally fine! Unfortunately that's not the way of the world, although it's great if you like non-mainstream games... |

| @pandrewh Noted! Actually I should have mentioned the fact that we're going to tell publishers again that queues around the games (ie. so you have something to watch while waiting) should be in place if at all possible, as that was something we used to do as standard. |
