@MrTomFTW While there are many shades of gray in this area, the fact remains that EG deserves props for the well written article and engaging in discussion.

Also, trust is not something you achieve with a single disclosure, it's what you win (or lose) over time, regardless of whether you are EG or TB.

Yeah. There were some beautiful strategic plays to be seen now that the group stage chaos subsided.

@dean0null same here. I'm spectating only which really feels odd.
I think there is an enjoyable casual-ish game hiding in there somewhere but it's deeply hidden beneath complicated mechanics and low-tolerance commmunity

@MrTomFTW I'm really missing some EG-style coverage of Dota2. Existing esports media is severely lacking in puns.

Nice article. I do agree that a broader journalistic view of dota/esports is missing but then that obviously was not the main objective of the project. Maybe something for EG to do?

Perfect bus/tube-waiting game. Mood is a little Katamari Damacy which is quite an achievement for a squarepushing game.

Regarding the score 10/10 makes sense within this genre.

Yes. It's magic. Try it!
You can practice vs bots too btw to get the hang of things. And watch a couple of games to get the understanding of the entirety of a match.

This might be one of the nicest pieces I have read on what is so wonderful about the gta-games.
The infinite amount of freedom and contemplation in between the missions is easily missed, even as a player.

Elite: Dangerous Kickstarter from series creator David Braben

humanchu

For me visuals are by far the least interesting part of the Elite experience.
It's the sense of exploration and risk/reward of entering different sectors of a vast galaxy. All of that is in my mind. A starfield and some basic radars are all that's needed for visuals.
Please adjust budgets accordingly.

@ATARI You have a point. And as a pure value comparison of console vs pc I guess consoles might win out. I am/was thinking of how great I feel in front of my pc enjoyng all those games, majors/indies, and how I do not mss anything about my 360 or ps3. And that's really subjective.

humanchu

@MDL199 Good point. I'm not reallt critisizing consoles. We'll I guess it sounds like i do... but it's more that I'm really happy at my desk in front of my pc. I wouldn't go back to console now. Being a mac-guy that's saying a lot. :)

@ShiftyGeezer All relevant points. + the platform exclusives @Cjail mentioned. Still after owning ps3/360 and now being on pc now I just cannot see how I would ever go back to the consoles. I do not think you would either if someone kind set up a gaming pc up for you. : )
