Especially for a game that is (apparently) so stunning-looking, to not have any in the review just seems really odd.

@PrimalxConvoy Hmm, iOS and Android "perfect" for plaformers? Are you sure about that?

I'd say Vita is a far more ideal home for them, and I'm glad to see that's where this game is actually heading.

Ready Player One film review - garish and nostalgic, but Spielberg gets games

erp

@man.the.king This comment struck me too. I have not seen The Post, but it still struck me as an extremely dismissive thing for the writer here to claim. Even smacks a little of ageism too. How can anyone make such a claim about any creative person, let alone someone as acclaimed as Spielberg?

Early prototype of Arms revealed, including a cut bowling mini-game

erp

@chucklepie I generally really like the redesign, but I agree that only showing the 10-or-so most recent News articles on the frontpage seems like a backwards step, and the "Show More Articles" link to a blog-style page is way too verbose to be an acceptable substitute.

"Essential"? That's certainly not what other outlets are saying.

@MarkMarkYepMark I definitely second the recommendation of the Bkoodborne DLC for all the new Plus players of the base game.

I'd recommend getting it for the first playthrough too as, unlike a lot of games' DLC, it slots in so nicely to the rest of the game that you won't even notice you're playing it.

At least, I didn't notice anyway. It was only after I finished my first playthrough that I looked back and realised that one of my favourite parts of the game turned out to actually be the DLC. :)

Dispelling the myths of Bloodborne

erp

The fact that some people think Bloodborne has no story truly makes me despair.

The fact that some people think a story apparently needs to be easily summarised to be seen as "good" frankly boggles my mind.

These can't be actual real opinions can they?

I'd go so far to say whenever I've tried playing any other Souls-like game, the thing that has almost always stopped me playing has been their storytelling being not a patch on the Souls & Bloodborne games.

In my mind, From Software are the unmatched masters of videogame narrative.

Sea horror SOMA's no-death Safe Mode is now available on PS4

erp

One of my absolute favourite games of the last few years, and it sounds like Safe Mode actually fixes the few things about the game I wasn't so keen on.

However I have to say, I don't really rate that new trailer; it doesn't really do the game's atmosphere justice to me, and shows a little too much for my liking.

@CoffeeJezus I've got to admit, it really does sound fantastic.

I played it for a few hours just before the Plains update, and quite like what I played...

I also very much enjoyed the _weirdness_ of it all!

I guess the main problem is I'm not much of a multi-player fan (although I do very much enjoy "shared-world" solo experiences).

Hm, I am really tempted to give this more of a try...
