Watch Dark Souls completed in under 50 minutes

dr-gray

@MrDurandPierre

So we try to keep it to games that are really popular, beloved and fun to watch. Also games that are a bit older, as new games get their records beaten on a very frequent basis
You realise you're talking about Dark Souls being "a bit older" in a culture dominated by S/NES era games, right?

Game records are broken all the time for games of all ages. There was a period just after SGDQ14 when *all* Halo game records were broken within 30 days of each other.

It honestly just feels like the guy writing the article is just recycling something he's stumble upon somewhere else, something that should be less of a gut thing, I'd say.

Speedrunning records are set every day - seems a bit of an odd shot in the dark just to pick this one out randomly.

Football Manager 2015 review

So basically you think the new UI is confusing because its different (which can be fixed with skins), the match engine is broken (it's *always* broken in FM games until January), and some pre-game option menu doesnt suit your playstyle.

Hearthstone bot maker forced out of business

dr-gray

4 years ago

As I'm getting spammed PMs I suppose I should spell it out a little clearer.

1) This wasn't the most popular hearthstone bot program, it was just the easiest to detect. There are many more out there.

2) The author closed the program for the sake of it. Legal action against botting isn't new and it isn't going away. Currently the most popular WoW bot has 4 or 5 high level law suits being attested. Give it 6-12 months and there will be 5 new ones. It's just a continuous cycle that these guys have to deal with.

3) The only person who wins from this guy closing up shop is the guy himself, all the way to the bank.

Hearthstone bots are less than useless. The only people that are put out are the weirdos who pay for this crap. You should be happy you come up against a sitting duck for free wins to collect new hats or whatever you get in that silly card game.

Now you're more informed, continue to downvote and spam outrage!!1one!

Five talking points from World of Warcraft's 6.0.2 patch

dr-gray

@gruntboy Wasn't this exactly what the article did? Most of the key additions were either completely ignored or the guy doesn't actually know the game past LFR

Bit of an odd write-up that seems a bit out of place on Eurogamer. Here is my take on the (seemingly random) points raised;

A rather uninspiring quest-line introduces WOW's next chapter

Phase 1 of a pre-xpac event. This is exactly what everyone was expecting.

The new Upper Blackrock Spire is fun but a little too breezy

Gate 1 of a multi dungeon. This was never suppose to be the epic experience that casual media seem to be making it out should have been. It's a quick loot pinata designed to get low geared alts up to speed.

Everybody's weaker but as powerful as they were before

The item squish has been talked about for most of this year. I've seen more people running old content this week than ever before.

Blizzard has made new gameplay out of storage systems

Toys? Re-live those items you didn't care about that everyone else already owns.

The new Dungeon Finder has blown WOW's old content wide open

I haven't seen this. I knew there was talk of DS LFR for the shitty coloured items but I solo or run old content weekly with a regular group of friends, so another raid finder tool is largely pointless.

World of Warcraft Patch 6.0.2 guide

Casual rubberneckers will like to have a dig at UBRS - but it's really nothing more than a way to give alts/casuals a bit of loot for free. There has been zero noise made about it and it features about 50th on things people are interested in on 6.0.2.

@SeeNoWeevil I also include people who use "game" in that context, so I guess there's no hope for you buddy.

The only thing scary about 30FPS are the sofa dwellers who accept it as standard.

Endless free games (ya know, actual free games that we don't pay a subscription for) and people still hate Origin.

And they're correct in doing so.
