Rime developer addresses Switch performance issues

As mentioned the performance isn't the best on any version, I've got it on Xbox One but holding off on the promised X patch because as it stands it's a bit ropey. Played it through on PS4 pro in the meantime, that was much better but not without slowdown.

There's an official football-themed PS4 controller

celery7

I bought the Darth Vader one a while back for 20 quid as the cheapest way to get a 2nd controller. To this day I'm slightly confused as to how it qualifies as 'Darth Vadery' beyond being black, you know - like 90% of PS4 controllers.

Being Player Two is rubbish

celery7

I see this play out with my 6 and 4 year olds on Rayman Legends, the eldest is always 'in charge', only he can choose levels and when to swap characters. All the youngest can do is pause the game and exit level, so he does it repeatedly. It's hilariously disruptive and I know it would drive me potty but what can I do, he's controlling what he can.

On the dodgy 2nd controller, I was at a neighbours house some time ago and their eldest of 2 boys knowing I had consoles wanted me to play Mario Kart on his Wii, cue the dodgy 2nd remote which disconnected constantly. I popped next door and got my working remote, he wasn't impressed to see his usual unfair advantage disappear ☺

Batman: Return to Arkham has stealth PS4 Pro support

celery7

Maybe Sony opted not to allow Pro boosts across the board to avoid the hostile reaction that could bring from the millions of 'original' owners? If you look at the One S with it's discrete boost, Microsoft we're very keen to downplay that, almost dismiss it, but in my experience a fair few games feel a bit smoother - it's not day and night but it's there.

@IronSoldier
You kind of make the point yourself, Wii U b/c isn't really talked about because it's always been there so there isn't any 'news' around it.

What does get coverage, here and on other sites is the addition of new 'Virtual Console' titles, so that's probably your point of comparison.

I assume they get all their consumables from another supplier, that's the case in the retailer I work for. They won't really care what you order, even if it's clearly way way above what a store normally orders, we ended up with about 6 years of stocktaking labels and they're still going strong!

It's got to be New Super Luigi U all the way. The tale of a near broken man, forever living in the shadow of a more popular sibling, awkward, gangly, always the butt of jokes. He seizes what may be his only opportunity to show he can match up to his brother, surpass him even, go harder and faster. I don't know how it ends because my nerves are all shot to hell through empathising with the struggle and the sheer desperation of it all but I envisage fireballs, broken bones and the hollow clunk of a cell door locking in an otherwise silent prison.

Letter from America: why Wii U isn't selling

celery7

I'd say brand loyalty is the final hurdle, the casual audience who made wii a sucess didn't hang around, the traditional gaming crowd who saw nintendo chasing a new audience moved on. Add to that the effort ms and sony has made to tie in their market, trophies/achievements and the focus on the social with multiplayer and friends
8 0

celery7

I think the Wii U's biggest problems are perception and a general negativity towards Nintendo from press, gamers and retailers. With those factors they're on a hiding to nothing really. Firstly perception, not enough games - I'd say for a console less than 12 months old it's got a decent library. Certainly comparable to the current gen over the same time period. It's not powerful enough- to do what? It's running games that look good and control well, that's meeting most of my criteria. The gamepad doesn't work. Ok.

I believe Brandon inherited a 1 winged light aircraft from an eccentric great aunt, along with a note explaining that to unlock her entire (not inconsiderable) fortune he must reunite it with the 2nd wing which she'd put into storage in the mid 80's to curtail her desire to recreate the action sequences from Top Gun whilst full of gin.

Asda haven't dropped 3DS, they've just taken it out of some of the stores. I work in a mid sized store, it never stocked wiiu and recently dropped vita but 3DS is still available. It's not related to Nintendo not accepting returns either, unless theres been a change of policy since the start of this month when I processed faulty 3DS units for return.
