Revealed: Sony's plan for PlayStation 4K - codename Neo

Sodding_Gamer

2 years ago

I bet it's a reaction from NX. They could be getting information that it will be more powerful than the current gen systems and with Sony being on top right now, doesn't want to swallow it's pride and be second place, thus creating a new console to outperform the NX.

That's my take anyway. If it isn't this, then who knows why they are doing it. As it's damn well bizarre otherwise.

Oh, and great article. :)

I am so ready for this game. I've wanted it my entire life, much like Sean himself. I'm just not clever enough, or good at maths to pull this thing off. So props to him and his team. SO exited!

Such a brilliant feature. I hope more games do something like this. For me it would be expensive given the amount of photos and screenshots I take in games these days.

Watch: No Man's Sky - managing the hype

Sodding_Gamer

3 years ago

@null

I heard about this too. Fitting that he has turned round now and trying to calm the hype and expectations down considering the rumour sounds like we probably won't get what we were promised. I'm thinking the whole game is going to have to be scaled back a bit. We shall see come June of course but I jumped off the hype train a while back and onto the weary one instead. Time will of course, tell.

Remaining Batman Arkham Knight Season Pass content revealed

People, STOP BUYING SEASON PASSES FOR CHRISTS SAKE.

If this information is given up front before the game launches, then by all means buy it if you think the content justifies the price. But blindly paying 32 for a season pass not knowing what you get is absolutely ridiculous.

A games soundtrack is one of the biggest purchase decisions for me. Coming from a musical background, a good soundtrack immerses me in that world that much more than normal.

It's why Mass Effect 1 and Deus Ex: Human Revolution are 2 of my favourite games of all time :D

Xenoblade Chronicles 3D review

Sodding_Gamer

3 years ago

Whilst I agree with the review, getting a copy of the Wii version in the UK for a decent price is nigh on impossible. And having a game with this much content on the move makes my life much better rather than having to sit and watch Vampire Diaries or some b@llocks on the TV when the missus is hogging it.

I've never played the original so I'm quite happy to dive in on the 3ds, even if it isn't the definitive version.

Apple Watch prices range from 299 to 13,500

Sodding_Gamer

3 years ago

Until these watches can last over 24 hours with heavy usage there really is no point in these things existing. If you have to have power reserve facility turned on and not use the goddamn facilities the "smart" watch provides then it basically turns into a normal watch, but with an awful battery life.

I just don't see the point. What's the point in having a smart watch when you can't do anything "smart" without it running out of battery before it even reaches the end of the day.

Performance Analysis: Battlefield Hardline beta

Sodding_Gamer

3 years ago

With FPS games there is always a debate about 30fps vs 60fps. And I always think why can't we have both? I know it would split the community but options are better than none. It would be cool for franchises like COD or BF to have separate modes for people who prefer 1080p at 30fps with enhanced graphics, and a separate mode for 60fps with visuals taking a hit.

This way everyone is happy and you get a slight customisation to your game like PC players get and keeping the balance without having players at a disadvantage. Just a thought anyway!

Video: Why you might not want to pre-order The Order

Sodding_Gamer

3 years ago

I think this is a new low for Eurogamer. So petty and seems like Ian is just shitting on this game for clicks. People shouldn't be pre-ordering games period. Doesn't matter what this game is like right now, it's not even out for one. And there are games out months ago that still don't work. *Cough Halo cough Unity*. Yet they get overwhelmingly positive previews.

Lost a fair bit of credibility from me, a long time reader of EG :/

DriveClub revisited: is dynamic weather a game-changer?

Sodding_Gamer

3 years ago

@shehzaanshazabdulla

This probably means that the game never drops to 30 so probably wavers around 35-45fps if the frame rate was unlocked but capping it at 30 keeps it constantly at that frame rate due to the overhead in extra frames on offer when it's unlocked. Crazy to think that the frame rate is probably able to go higher than 30 with the visuals on display!

Sodding_Gamer

@splayer88

I did the exact same thing and my god it's terrifying isn't it! It's almost unplayable and you just have to hope for the best. You literally need to remember the exact course and pi point little details for each corner so you know when to turn. Crazy.

Sodding_Gamer

I know it had launch issues but so have so many other games this year. But this is the only game I keep coming back to. It's so addictive and the visuals never get old. Especially when they are adding to it all the time with Photo mode, weather and soon Replays.

So much fun to be had and I'm not even a massive racing fan. If you haven't picked it up there is no better time. Should be a fair few deals for it leading up to Christmas too. No point really waiting for the psplus edition as the upgrade will probably cost more than what you can get the full disc game in the shops by that point anyway!

The Dark Below makes Destiny's mistakes all over again

Sodding_Gamer

3 years ago

I haven't played the new dlc but I new it wouldn't be big. However there is some evidence on reddit/neogaf about this in fact already being on the disc pretty much. And half the new missions and strikes are same as old ones but slightly re-skinned and in reverse! I can't comment on this but this screams money grabbing. The fact the DLC is quite expensive to begin with I have completely lost faith in Bungie.

I played the Alpha/Beta and loved it, got burnt buying digitally and I personally won't be playing this again or anything else from Bungie for that matter.

It seems this game is just designed to take advantage of people with addictive personalities and just keep them playing for the slither on content actually available. Sad really as the potential for the game looked great!

I didn't mean diluted in that way. My Dad is half Native American. But he left my family when I was only 4 and never embraced his cultural background. Thus me growing up as normal bloke in the UK. So diluted environmentally if you want to call it that?!

On a more personal note: This review hit home a bit for me. My Ancestors were Native Americans and I've been diluted into obscurity. It's made me think about looking I to my family tree that's for sure!
