Performance analysis: Tomb Raider Definitive Edition
|
Richard writes "we prioritised performance analysis in order to get our impressions to you as quickly as possible - and the results are going to make for uncomfortable reading at Microsoft" ...and gets accused of being biased towards Microsoft? He literally wrote that in the opening para. You're all blind, mental and stupid. |

Microsoft: competitive pricing for digital downloads "on the agenda"
|
Just to play devils advocate... are digital downloads not more expensive because of the 'convenience' they offer? As in, if you fancy playing Dead Rising at 2am in the morning, you can start downloading and play. Or if you live far away from a bricks and mortar retailer, this is a massively useful alternative. |

Sony patents method to interrupt your gaming with an ad
|
I don't see the problem in truth. It will obviously just be a form of freemium - i.e getting you games for free, and that model has to be funded somehow. Do you use Spotify for free? Wouldn't a similar service for gaming be nice? I'll probably get negative feedback for the comment, but baffled as to why a hint at this kind of model could possibly be a bad thing. |

Trends of 2012: Social Gaming
|
Those asking about definitions of social gaming and highlighting the blurred lines between social and casual: as I understand it, social gaming is gaming integrated within social media; these games cannot exist (or be played) without input from friends/followers on social media. This is basically it, yeah? So something like, say, Angry Birds or PlayStation Minis, isn't 'social gaming' in this new fangled context - it's casual gaming. It's the fact these games are rooted to your social media networks that makes these unique. Sorry if this is all just fucking obvious, I get pretty confused when reading about Zynga et al. Hopefully someone can say 'yes' to me. |

| @Geowolf tone it down a bit, eh? Fair enough you don't agree with the score, but accusations about not playing the game and that, jeez... You're coming across as a bit of a loon. |

Seriously think this Ellie issue will / needs to come down to some form of PHYSICAL FIGHT. Those for, those against, somewhere isolated... NAKED |

Ellie rocks. Simple as that. She's a genuinely talented writer. Has a certain style, true, and perhaps that's not to everyones taste. I suppose she's quite similar to Gary Cutlack in that respect. Yes, perhaps she favours humour over relevance. Big.Fucking.Deal. We're talking about games for Jesus sake. Games are silly, they've always been silly, game reviews (and generally all comms) used to be silly. I find it incredible that people would moan about the tone of the review not being serious enough... What a horrid bunch of bores you must be. Ellie's copy is always really refreshing because of it's aloofness. It's just funny. Keep up the good work. I hope Eurogamer don't take some of these comments to seriously... Minus me down, fuckers. I don't care. I've got left over pasta from last night and just found a tenner in the bottom of my bag. Xx |
