Next-Gen Face-Off: Thief

Nyromith

@Deionarra

Is there a DRM-free copy of Thief for PC?

The only reason to turn on my gaming PC is for CDPR games and DRM-free indies - the only developers who actually respect their customers.

The war against DRM that was fought and won just a few months ago worth much more than some prettier graphics.

Crippled and encrypted physical copies that artificially require a third party client to be installed on my computer all the time don't worth my money.

One of my favorite games of all times. Hoping for a PS4 or at least a Linux release.

They should remaster the entire series!

Amazon reportedly set to launch Android video game console - and it may be core focused

Nyromith

Android is a low quality operating system with low quality games. If you want a serious gaming console better develop your own Linux-based gaming OS instead of using a kernel that is optimized for phones and tablets.

In Theory: Can the Xbox One cloud transform next-gen gaming?

Nyromith

5 years ago

Cloud gaming is such a genius idea!

Release a deliberately underpowered hardware, bogged down by three OSes and over excessive multitasking, then offload some computations to your servers - and here you have an excellent excuse for always-online DRM!

Hope gamers don't buy this bullshit of the 'infinite power of the cloud'.

Why don't you just stop supporting this anti-consumer and anti-gaming platform and move to a platform-independent format?

I knew this console is only able to compete with the Ouya. "Wii U" and "Ouya" even sound similar. Haha.

Ah, Nintendo's pathetic fanboys strike again. Over a half year I hear them saying 'Just wait for E3, you'll be blown away by Nintendo!', but I knew they have nothing new to show, just the same 30 years old Mario.

So now they say 'But... But they will be there! They will bring some booths!' like people will really want to play some pathetic arcade machines from the 80s when they will have two true next-gen consoles to try.

Maybe they can just launch a web-based Wii-U instead of that failing console? Their games don't look better than flash games anyway.

Why no Outside PS3? Why does this core gaming site support a platform that betrayed core gaming many years ago? PS3 deserves more attention than Xbox on gaming sites I think, especially if they are not american.

Why? Another ridiculously childish game from a franchise milked to death just proves they're right.

I like the statue. Overall a pretty standard Collector's bundle - a statue, an artbook, the soundtrack and some in-game perks.

I'll get it!

OnLive's new owner bought the company for just $4.8m

Nyromith

Cloud gaming is a demonic technology supported by the greedy publishers to establish the ultimate control over the content they give us and it's price.

I'm not an evil person, but I was glad to hear about Onlive's collapse, and I'm very disappointed that the people who used it didn't learn their lesson the hard way. Hope Sony won't abuse Gaikai to exterminate home consoles in the future.

World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria week one sales less than Cataclysm's day one

Nyromith

6 years ago

No WoW expansion pack can sell more than the previous ones for one simple reason: you have to buy all the previous expansion packs to use the current, so it's bound by those numbers. Plus, unfortunately people buy more and more digital copies, and I'm not sure if those numbers include them.

Still, I'm quite worried by the slowing of sales. It's a great game, and I like to play it from time to time. Blizzard is planning to update the graphics and gameplay, so there is much more to expect, and I'm sure our kids will thank us for the opportunity to experience the magics of Azeroth.

World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria review

@Britler
The talent trees were an illusion, because 90% or more were mandatory talents for basic class abilities (like dual-wielding and certain spells). Now there are rolled into the spec choice and you get a cool new ability almost every level, and the specs feel much more different - almost like different classes. The talents you select now are not mandatory abilities, but three optional enhancement, all valid choices. Coupled with glyphs, there is enoght character customization. There could be more of course, but it's certainly not less than the old system.
