@pooKy1979 "...PSVR still doesn't have a killer app" It's a lot of money to ask, and there is no Zelda or Halo - swapping it for a Switch wasn't a bad idea. I'm glad I kept mine though, I love it and I hope they make a proper PSVR 2 one day |

Don't gush: why the vision of Mirror's Edge Catalyst makes it a modern great
Bravo Team review - an astonishingly bad VR shooter from a team that should know better

@pooKy1979 "So glad I still don't have to convince myself that the PSVR was a worthwhile purchase. It just isn't." I've felt that way at times as the headset gathered dust behind the sofa. On the other hand the PSVR has offered me some of the most ecstatic moments of gaming I've experienced. Dirt VR and Ultrawings (I keep mentioning it) are brilliant and I'm looking forward to trying Megaton Rainfall. Wish there were more PSVR reviews on EG.. |

Kingdom Come: Deliverance review - history is a double-edged sword
Whats with this "people of colour" idiocy? Stop it now. Unless you're an American of course, in which case I apologise. |

Can Kingdom Come Deliverance's tech deliver its ambitious vision?
I've now played 5hrs of it on ps4 pro. No bugs so far. The 31fps makes things a little jumpy and there is some pop up. I'm loving it, the cautious pace makes the game world come alive in my imagination in way that many more polished games don't. Edit :some problem making an important npc walk into a wall and get stuck, I wondered off for a few minutes and came back, ok again now. Not being able to save without a potion or bed is aggravating, will I miss anything if I sleep? |

@Raiftel That's a fair point, but are people going to dig deeper or are they instead going to associate this game with some ill defined (in fact not ever clearly described) bad thing. It feels like an attempt to smear the game especially when done in such an influential publication as EG. |

..also, does the political bias mentioned in the article colour how DF writes about the game's technical aspects? |

"It would be remiss of us not point out the controversy surrounding this title based on the attitudes of Daniel Vávra,...." "...may give pause in considering it for purchase." Why not keep Digital Foundry about your painstaking technical investigation and leave the endless weeping and gnashing of teeth to others? |

How Call of Duty: WW2 trivialises history
It's all a bit rum to me. Making a neuron tickling roller-coaster ride of genuine murder and real mortal risk that occurred not that many years ago. |

Watch: Digital Foundry's Rich and John on Xbox One X and the future of consoles
@FilthyAnimal the problem may be that iterative hardware won't be well supported by publishers while their audience is on old kit. There aren't many enhanced games for the pro and even fewer for the beefed up new 3ds. Also I like the idea of a decent intergenerational leap (not a euphemism) to blow my socks off every so often. |

Destiny 2 is down for hours again today
Why not inconvenience the Americans next time, just for a change? Or better, invest in some sort of redundant setup that allows work to be done without taking the service down. |

Why the Switch is Nintendo's truest Family Computer
The switch is great but it's a bit delicate to leave in the hands of a borderline hyperactive 7 year old, where the wii was pretty bulletproof and the wii u for that matter. |

PlayStation Now's PS4 game performance analysed
Looking at the stats given above, lag is always considerably worse over streaming. I worry that cost savings might mean consumers are pushed towards this second rate way of playing games. |

One of the ugliest controllers ever is about to make a comeback
The smaller controller has your first and second fingers extended on the bumpers/triggers, while the other two curl underneath the grips. This half extended half gripping hand shape makes the back of my hands sore after long periods, might just be me. I like the way the old xbox controller supported the inside of my hands, and stopped the 3rd and 4th fingers from curling around too much. |

Prey's first hour tested on PS4 and Xbox One
Input lag :( Will making the acceleration quicker when it eventually does respond really fix it? What happened to the brilliant input response tests eurogamer used to do? Shining the light of investigative journalism onto something that's not often concidered but has a big impact on how a game feels. I would love to see it come back. |

Disney ditches Pewdiepie after anti-semitic stunt
@UncleLou 'I really don't think we need a Youtube star with millions of viewers who are mostly minors making "lighthearted" racist, anti-semitic, or similar jokes.' An antisemetic joke is one that is hostile to or prejudiced against Jews, the joke here (not a great joke admittedly) was on the people debasing themselves for money by holding up a sign stating an unacceptable viewpoint. |

@INSOMANiAC "it wasn't some intellectual political point to bring about a discussion about the holocaust, it was a rich man paying two people to hold up and offensive sign so he could get hits on his channel, it's a bit different." ...and that's ok with me, as long as the ideological slant of the piece does not endorse antisemitism, and in this case it seemed to denounce the same. |

I don't watch it (too old ) but from the description of the video the holding up of a sign saying "kill all jews" was used as an example of how to completely debase yourself, an example of a shameful and pathetic thing to do. Why shouldn't everyone be able to talk about the holocaust? |

Parappa the Rapper is being remastered for PS4
I bought the backwards compatible Parappa the Rapper but the timing seemed badly off. I've since read that modern TVs and external home theater have different response times than the old CRTs that the game was developed for. Wonder how they will get around it? |

DriveClub vs DriveClub VR: the costs and benefits of virtual reality
The low resolution makes it harder to pick out corners and obstacles until they are close. Some tracks suffer more, like the Scotland town one with it's indecipherable muddy greys buildings. Not to grumble mind I'm still having a lot of fun. |

Is it worth upgrading PS4 Pro with an SSD?
I've noticed the cpu fan spin up when loading Uncharted, then quiet down a little one the level starts. Could it be decompressing compressed data off the hard drive as it reads? In which case maybe drive speed is not what is holding it back. |

GAME to open concessions in WHSmith
@Fourfoldroot "Don't know how CEX have managed to take over pre-owned when Game have a price match. Just show the guy at the till the CEX website on your phone and they beat it by £1" ..I didn't know that, I guess your need to factor in trade in value, or is it for that also? Will check. |

Pokémon Go banned in Iran due to "security concerns"
This article confuses two stories, the banning of pokemon go in Iran for security reasons and the renewal of a Saudi fatwa (ban) on pokemon for it's perceived jewish/christian symbols and mention of evolution, something not taught in Saudi state schools as it contravenes their creationist beliefs. Both actions seem to be about limiting the influence of western culture which might loosen the grip of the ruling class. |

Uncharted 4 makes a move for the open, but at what cost?
Marking enemies then being able to see them through walls is getting a bit old now. Having to think about the environment to get the drop on an enemy is exciting and interesting, tagging enemies from afar then walking sideways until you get to an open door can be boring. Maybe you can just turn it off, anyway I'm sure it'll be awesome.. |

Far Cry Primal review
Unplanned buy in Sainsbury's this evening. I'm about an hour and a half in and bored. Stupid impulse buying brain! Back to Fallout... Edit: It's just the constantly mashing the 'hunter vision' button every 30 seconds or so while crouchwalking everywhere, the slowness of it all, the soap opera drama of the tribe you're a part of, the lack of anything tactical about the battles (except for sneaky head shots with the bow which are fun) , and the underwhelmingly myopic owl you unlock |
