Real wages are dropping and they are now a net importer rather than exporter as they have to import energy since the Fukushima incident turned people off nuclear. Console sales will not return to the good old days for a very long time. Was smart of Sony to concentrate outside of Japan first. |

European gamers 'don't mind' launch delays - Sony VP

This is a clear case of corpoate brainwashing. They believe utterly that they will sail to victory this gen. They could possibly do it but in my opinion the delay will gift huge market share to MS and Nintendo. Their product is too expensive and even less affordable in March when people are still clearing their christmas spend. Also I think the release of PES6 on 360 will garner a lot of mainstream sales and public awareness of the 360. And I honestly think that nintendo have a huge, broadly appealing, hit with the wii at a decent price. Keep this up at your peril, Sony. |

No doubt about it, Sony have a lot to catch up on. Online service needs to be an integral part of their new machine so we'll just have to see what they come up with. I doubt it will be able to better M'soft service though. On the other hand dont think that an integrated online service is going to bother joe schmoe on the street. The price of the console will however. |

After last year it's probably a safe bet that the nerd rage would outstrip any benefit of showing footage.
If they get campaign right, all will be right with the world from their point of view. A good start is crucial for an ever evolving game like this. This won't be lost on them so we should be happy for them to get on with it.
