The good, bad and ugly of Call of Duty: WW2

Jonny5Alive7

I quite like Prestiging, without the progress there isn't as much motivation to keep playing. So when you get to level 55 and you have nothing else to unlock it's not as exciting.

Also by the time you get to 55 you should be pretty good at the game, so it tests that by putting you back with the basic weapons.

How to fix Star Wars Battlefront 2

Jonny5Alive7

We're getting free DLC this time, which is good so the audience doesn't get segregated. Like it or not EA has to find a way to charge us for that somewhere, so keep loot boxes but don't make the game so dependent on them.

The biggest Star Wars Battlefront 2 killstreaks from the beta weekend

Jonny5Alive7

Hopefully there will be a few more objective based game modes in the full thing. The Death Star DLC and Rogue One DLC had a couple of modes that took you through three stages of the story (Space battle, ground assault, escape), they were really fun.

Samsung Galaxy S8 review

Jonny5Alive7

Quite late to be having a review of a phone that was out a couple of months ago. I've got an S8 and think it's great, it's the first phone I've had with a fingerprint scanner so to me the position of it isn't an issue, although I have nothing to compare it to. You do instinctively put your finger in the correct place pretty quickly.

The camera is a real strong point, so accurate and quick.

Nothing will ever compare with the first level of a new game

Jonny5Alive7

Have to say I feel the opposite, I find starting a new game the most tedious part because you have to go to the effort of learning how the systems in the game work. I just can't be bothered to learn another way of doing things.

I much prefer it when I'm settled and know all the controls.

Jonny5Alive7

Black Ops 2 was the version when I stopped playing COD. I didn't like score streaks instead of kill streaks and they went too far with the customisation. Clearly many people disagree!

MW2 and the first Black Ops are my favourites.

We need to talk about emulation

Jonny5Alive7

You make an interesting point, but to answer your original question, no it definitely isn't killing the industry. These games aren't available to buy from anywhere so no one is getting any revenue for them, so letting people play them for free doesn't damage anything. If anything it enhances the reputations of these older games.

Chris Donlan on: Gaming's cruellest downgrade

Jonny5Alive7

With Watch Dogs it was more that the gameplay didn't match up with the supposed gameplay trailer they showed, it wasn't really the graphics as such. It ended up being another Ubisoft open world game, which was still decent but not the revolution they portrayed it to be.

40 Battlefield Hardline Premium program detailed

Jonny5Alive7

@Triggerhappytel Except BF annual pass does not pre-date COD's and as I mentioned Hardline is sort of a new IP so doesn't have the same dedicated fan base behind it.

Jonny5Alive7

You're going to have to be a huge fan of Battlefield to consider buying that. I kind of understand it when COD do it, because if people know that's all they're going to play all year then it is worth the money. But for a sort of new franchise to do it, is a bit ludicrous to me.

Jonny5Alive7

I think it is similar to BF4 but I don't think that's a bad thing. I've been playing on Xbox One and the visuals are excellent. There's some really fun gadgets to play with such as the Grappling Hook and Zipline.

Also the upgrade system is much easier to understand than many recent FPS's, you just buy items with in game money and that's that.

As people have already said if you shop around you can often get games for cheaper than the RRP. I got Watch Dogs pre-owned for 25 a month after release, can't complain with that.

Also I can remember when Virtua Racing came out on the Mega Drive and it was around 60 because it had extra technology in the cartridge or something.
