| Great to hear that they've added this. While the game's population is high, it's sometimes impossible to find players playing the older DLC operations. |

The very first screenshots of World of Warcraft
|
@Bertie WoW fundamentally changed the genre by being so successful. I doubt we'll see the same pioneering, creative culture that existed ten years ago for MMORPGs. In some ways, WoW has been a bad thing. Can you imagine an EVE online or open world style-SWG game launching these days? |

Natural Selection 2 dev's Subnautica is out now on Steam Early Access
|
Was a huge fan of Natural Selection running under Half Life. I enthusiastically bought their early access bundle-thing for the sequel. What followed was over a year of near unplayable mess and a disappointing final result. I learned my lesson with early access games and haven't anything since, with Minecraft as the exception. |

Warlords of Draenor sales take WOW subs back up over 10 million
| I wonder how long that figure will be sustained for? It's pretty normal for floods of returning players to come back and try the new content only to leave when it comes to end-game patches and raids. |

Don't rule WildStar out yet
|
A great MMO with potential but unfortunately plagued with a few key performance issues at launch. I'd love to go back at some stage, the game features some brilliantly refreshing ideas. Good luck to everyone involved. |

WildStar calls off Christmas, Halloween content
|
It's a great game and worth playing, but it needs work to shore up a few low points. Really what would have been the point in spending loads of money on superfluous content when it'll be competing against WoW's latest content heavy boxed expansion. |

Star Citizen races past $50m mark after selling new space ships
|
This game could be the poster boy of how not to do early access. With all of the now promised modes and features surely the development cycle is being pushed back with every stretch goal met. What's keeping this on target and in budget? It all seems too good to be true. |

"It's not historically accurate!"
|
I'd love for EG to focus on the fact that games have often poorly told, immature stories. For multiplayer titles I can't see why there shouldn't be female representation along with race etc, but the issue is so much broader than 'women are great and are capable and why doesn't anyone else but me know?'. Presumably, we all love games. We know 88% of them are about shaven headed bald action hero men with chiselled features. How about you/we/whoever encourages interesting new stories and explores completely different characterisations. Just look at Last of us, Joel was a douche and the story was deftly told in a mature, complex way. They made a 'The Road' game and it was incredibly fun and satisfying to boot. I don't think anyone above the age of 13 is actually against female representation in games. I do think that people won't care what gender/species/race/perspective a character is given so long as the structure around it is convincing and compelling. Tell that story. |

The games industry and press are embarrassingly behind the times in many regards. Plus they know it, constantly bemoaning their status while incessantly comparing themselves to more mature media. Sometimes when gaming, I feel like I'm grading short stories for a 15 year old's GCSE english class. |
