TimeSplitters 2 retrospective

The multiplayer on TS2 was amazing, had as much fun on it as I did with Goldeneye (TS1 was pretty good too though). One of my favourite gametypes to play was infection on the Hospital level, that made for some very tense moments. Also beat the story mode co-op with my step brother, the future Tokyo level used to annoy me for the forced stealth section but it was a blast to play overall. |

Condemned: Criminal Origins retrospective

I completed Condemned on the PC a few months ago, I liked it but it did et a little too repetitive by the end and the crime scene investigation parts were a missed opportunity for something more in-depth. The guy who was locked in the locker looked dead gave me the biggest jump of the whole game by far. The mannequins level was one of the creepiest overall and the last level felt very tense with those huge enemies after you while your health pills were wittered down. Edit: I also completely forgot to use the taser for the whole game, until the 8th level. Sounds like that was a lucky coincidence. |

Gitaroo Man retrospective

Loved this game and played it to death as a teenager (originally played the demo to death before I found the full game reduced in a HMV). Master mode was extremely difficult but very satisfying when you finally beat its stages. If I remember correctly I never completed Master mode though, the last stage was too tough. Wouldn't mind giving this another playthrough sometime. |

Dragon Quest 8: Journey of the Cursed King retrospective
| Good game, although the grinding you have to do right at the beginning of the game just to have a chance to progress is a little annoying. I played this and FFXII within the same year and despite being a huge Final Fantasy fan (back then at least), DQ8 was the only game I ever finished. |

I first starting playing it shortly after the EU launch and the EXP penalties for dying were much harsher and EXP took much longer to get in general (e.g. 6k exp per hour used to be considered good, now in Abyssea my record was around 300k EXP per hour). I've quit for good now though, deleted my character after 222 full days of playtime. |
