It will be interesting to see how the card system plays out. Digital Extremes started to develop a competitive FPS with a similar card system at its core. DE ditched the project after the balancing of these cards decks created more problems, rather of than enhancing the game play. I know B4B isn't strictly a traditional PVP game so we might all be surprised what the card system brings. Saying that L4D is still solid today. Will the card system bring enough creativity to the game play to make it stand out from a 10+ year old game? |

@Unreal849 Yeah I know exactly what you mean - zombie solo runs are never straight forward. I don't mind a challenge but sometimes the maps and the path to completing them, is so esoteric that it really puts you off. Even with Der Esinedrache I took me quite a few times to finish it. Mainly due to shoddy mechanics right near then end - i.e. the lightning spikes. |

That's at least a couple of weeks off of S2 rolling out. I can't help but think they warmed us up with the first map which wasn't too difficult to complete. Even on solo, it felt like Treyarch laid out the new mechanics and enemy types, to set the community up for a full fat zombies map. |

I guess they're tieing up and prepping for the Verdansk map changes. Whether this is a new map or visual updates to the original Warzone map. Would be be interesting if they changed WZ to mirror the Cold War setting. Nice to see MW still getting some love with the new maps too. |

The new battlepass will be a good indicator of how the rate of XP will be set. Zombies being tied into the BP and weapons systems is experiencing the same thing. They could be slowing the xp anf look to up it for the Xmas uptick that comes along. |

@Der_tolle_Emil Yeah - I have to agree with you on that. PUBG according to Steam charts - is still holding its own. The team behind PUBG started to the BR genre in earnest and then found themsleves up against a rising popularity in their game and like you say AAA studios coming along and flexing their engines. To be fair ot PUBG dev's they've managed to keep the momentum going through the rough and smooth. Putting out new maps and quality of game improvements in the process. |

Hmmm...no big whoop. Warzone is f2p and runs at roughly 60 fps on current consoles. PUBG still feels like a PC only title - though it's on conoles and mobile too. Even so a bit disappointing but still early days for the next gen'. I wonder if this is the type of bottle necking some developers have raised their concerns about the S series? |

It will likely improve a few months in - but it didn't make me want to buy CoD. To be fair under the circumstances Treyarch have managed with all the other studios to pull it altogether. Though it feels like its pandering to the CoD community that love the quick scoping, bunny hopping, sliding etc. MP has taken a back seat and I wonder what affect Warzone has had on the competitive side of CoD. I'll stick with Modern Warfare for now. |

It's a beta - but sooooo many people sweating their arse off for who knows what? I like the implementation of spawn protection - might help mitigate spawn killing (might). If I'd change the meta of gameplay it would be to replace jump for a mantle mechanic. |

I think GAME maybe nudging people towards the PS5 version - which would be odd considering the low availabilty of new consoles. Plus money grabbing. Treyarchs CoD's are popular but nowhere near a next gen' selling title. Saying that BO4 did not run that well on the PS4 - choppy framerate. So might convince people to make the leap to the next gen' version. |

@Svalbaard What are you on about ? Treyarch has always put a zombies mode into their Cod titles. It sounds like you just don't like CoD which is fine - but the zombies community is quite big and in Activisions eyes. Profitable. It's a great mode and now free, which helps - though I get you hate Activision. I personally am not keen on them, especially as they bowed to pressure from China in regards to the Tiananmen Sqaure footage in the trailer. |

Sony stated a while back that they expect the next gen' uptake might take longer than previously. Add pandemic economic woes - it well could be longer. Nothing struck me as outstanding last night, apart from Dark Souls. Which actually looked like a next generation title - everything else was ok. I think the pricing is good as performance is not compromised across the 2 options. Plus the second hand market is still helpful to many I'm guessing. Bottom line the back capatability has to worth the outlay - as I like alot of the games I have still on my hard drives. |

In addition there looks to be 3 variants of COD 2020 to be purchased - base, pc and current consoles, cross-over which will upgrade when you get the next 'gen console and ultimate. Which is similar to the the cross gen' - but with season 1 battlepass and digital extras. Charlie intel is suggesting that upgrading your current generation game to the new consoles, is going to cost the consumer. Whether you buy the cross -gen' COD 2020 or stump up for the upgrade. As if Activision don't have enough banked already - no surprise but even so. |

It looks like WB Montreal were tasked in making a last gen' game to compensate (possibly - no idea) last gen' users hankering after a new Rocksteady title. The fact that both titles have similiar game mechanics - squad/character switching - has taken edge off abit for me. They look great - don't get me wrong and change is a good thing (mostly). It just looks like 2 flavours of the same thing (shit analogy). Proof will be in the playing as usual - blah blah. |

Shadow Warrior 3 looks like ninja Doom

Shadow Warrior 2 had the dash mechanic before Doom Eternal - but no great leap of innovation. Hopefully this will only be a PC/next gen' release - as SW2 on the PS4 at least, was broken. Several times the frame rate tanked and stayed tanked. So, not very optimised or updated. Possibly the console versions were being rushed and/or pushed too hard. |

I doubt I'll dip into the Battlemode anytime soon - just doesn't have that much appeal. Doom 2016 MP was great albeit abit vanilla - had the speed and energy to keep the matches momentum going. Didn't like the demon power ups though. Doom Eternal is slightly cursed by its own heritage - look at Quake Champions. Still wouldn't mind a Doom E MP update similiar to Doom 2016. |

@MrTomFTW I've got much a cleaner Crystal Xbox if anyone's interested? The staff need at the least to have the tills fully shielded - like say how the post office currently is. They handle alot of cash (which unless is soaked in vinegar) - is going to be a stretch to practice a consistent level of hygiene. CeX is likely to be a very tense shop to visit, let alone work instore. |

It will be interesting to see how devs' improve current games on the consoles. ID, Bungie, CoD developers have all mentioned that there'll migrate to the next gen'. More likely be closer to a PC port or verison - considering the new -ish tech. CoD 2020 was always going to straddle both old and next gens'. This is a time to win over the fans, as live service games don't necessarily require high end machines to enjoy. |

With Warzone's popularity - they could have let the annual COD release slip this year. Or had the forsight too. Lets's hope they've knocked the specialist cheese on the head too. Sledgehammer might be working on something new - lots of twitter job postings from them. Which would be quite a surprise and a nice change. |

I've disabled this for MP - lag and cheating makes it feel very RNG, especially with the high TKK MW has. Playing solo matches in WZ - even more so. But BR is a bit wild west at the best of times - so cheaters or not. Death lurks around every corner or camped toilet. |

@George-Roper Yeah I thought this too - a drop in the 50 million player count. PC players are concerned that WZ and MW will die off with crossplay disabled. WZ is a great entry to the BR genre but needs more than good will to keep players trust on board. |
