Plants vs. Zombies: Heroes collectible card game announced

Can it pip Hearthstone?

There will soon be yet another collectible card game vying for your attention, this time from EA and Plants vs. Zombies developer PopCap Games.

Plants vs. Zombies: Heroes launches this year for mobile devices and once again pits the ever-warring plants against the undead.

Your decks will be organised around a hero of your choosing, including characters from the just-released Plants vs. Zombies shooter spin-off Garden Warfare 2.

EA is rolling out a soft launch for the game in certain territories, before a worldwide release later on.

Heroes will offer a single-player story campaign as well as the opportunity to battle other players in real-time. Hundreds of cards and multiple daily quests will be available.

There's no gameplay footage yet, but you can take a look at the cartoony art-style in the following trailer:
