NiGHTS playable in Sonic & Sega All Stars: Racing Transformed

NiGHTS title character NiGHTS will be a playable character in Sonic & Sega All Stars: Racing Transformed.

Footage shown at Sega's Summer of Sonic event confirmed the latest addition to the game's roster.

Genderless purple jester-thing NiGHTS flies on its own through the game's courses. Unlike other characters it does not require a vehicle.

A NiGHTS-themed stage was also spotted. Leaked images are currently viewable on NeoGAF.

NiGHTS is the latest inclusion in a game full of retro Sega fan service. Vyse from Skies of Arcadia and Gilius Thunderhead from Golden Axe also feature.

The news follows the announcement that the series' classic Sega Saturn entry would be ported to PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 as NiGHTS into Dreams HD.
