Microsoft has posted the full list of changes made in the Xbox 360 Autumn system update announced last night.

Headline features in the update (due to be distributed by automatic download today) include the ability to stream WMV videos from a PC running Windows Media Player 11 or Windows Media Connect, and the ability to play said files from CDs, DVDs, USB 2.0 flash drives and Xbox 360 memory units. The system update also introduces native support for 1080p resolutions through VGA and component cables.

The Xbox.com page reveals that it also adds support for upcoming peripherals like the Wireless Headset and Wireless Racing Wheel, teaches the system how to interface with the forthcoming HD-DVD player (due out in the middle of November), and introduces compatibility with Microsoft's new Zune MP3 player.

There are also a huge number of tweaks among the 84 added features and enhancements trumpeted by Microsoft, including the ability to disable notifications when watching DVDs - good news for anybody who's ever had a poignant moment interrupted by the news that Badger52 is now online.
