TOCA Race Driver 2 demo races into view

Three cars, three tracks, and the game's out on April 23rd.

Ahead of TOCA Race Driver 2 taking to the PC and Xbox track on April 23rd, Britsoft publisher Codies has released a demo of the game consisting of three tracks and three cars.

With any luck, the 114MB download should give you a good idea of how it feels to take some bangers for a spin round the new-look blocks, where the 'bangers' in question are actually three of the game's 35 cars, and the 'new-look blocks' are the Brands Hatch Indy circuit, the Hockenheimring and the Phillip Island course from the full game.

Codies isn't skimping on the cars, either - you get to play with an AMG Mercedes CLK, an HRT Holden Commodore VY and, perhaps most tantalisingly, the rather spangly Jaguar E-Type. The full game will obviously include plenty more, but what you perhaps didn't know is that it's more than just touring cars; this time Codies has worked in GT Sports Car Racing, Street Racing, Rally, DTM, V8 Supercars, Global GT Lights, Rally Cross, Formula Ford, Open Wheel Grand Prix and Classic Car Racing modes. Cripes.

TOCA Race Driver 2: The Ultimate Racing Simulator, to give it its full name, is due out on PC and Xbox this April 23rd, and will feature online play on both systems. Oh, and for those of you joining us from Germany/Benelux, the game is known as "DTM Race Driver 2" down your way.
