America's Army should be patched to version 1.9 within "a matter of days", according to a representative at the US Army's Gen Con Indy 2003 booth, says GameSpot. Currently version 1.7 of the game is available, and the forthcoming update will include a new interface, a few new combat medic missions and lip-synched character models. It doesn't look like the US Army is ready to give up on the game either, with a Mac version in the offing and plans for more content updates in the future. Then again, getting them to take part is never a problem - it's getting them to do it right that causes all the hassle.
