Ubi overhauls Rainbow on consoles

Expanded storyline, and better AI, and blah blah blah.

Ubi Soft is stressing the differences between the PC and upcoming console ports of Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3. The first major difference is the shedding of the Raven Shield sub-title, for which there seems to be no real reason.

The publisher is also making brash promises that the game will feature "an expanded storyline ... and upgraded AI" - ye-eees. Somewhat believably though, it has also been revealed that the game will be slotted into the Splinter Cell engine to polish up the visuals a bit, despite the fact that Raven Shield on the PC wasn't particularly shoddy-looking in the first place.

Rainbow Six 3 is due out at the tail end of the year, with other console versions to be announced.
