Nintendo has rebuffed suggestions on a Japanese website that Advance Wars: Under Fire, under development at UK-based Kuju, will support the GameCube microphone.

The report said that Nintendo had announced the new GameCube microphone peripheral, which is set to ship with Mario Party 6, would also serve some purpose in Advance Wars: Under Fire, specifically for controlling troops.

However when questioned today about the story, we were told, "Nintendo has not made such an announcement at all," a line that apparently came straight from Japan.

Advance Wars: Under Fire, the popular Game Boy Advance turn-based strategy series' first foray onto a Nintendo home console, is expected to make it out sometime in 2005.
