FIFA Xbox Live Starter Kit launched

And the regular Starter Kit's been updated with some new demo versions too, including, er, FIFA. And friends.

FIFA 2005 may well go online with both Xbox and PS2, but EA's doing a far better job of milking its collaboration with Microsoft than Sony. First we had the FIFA Interactive World Cup, which kicks off this month, and now we're told that FIFA 2005 has become the basis of the latest limited edition Xbox Live Starter Kit. From around now, £59.99 gets you FIFA 2005, a 12-month subscription to Live and a headset.

Microsoft has also taken this opportunity to refresh the contents of the normal £39.99 Starter Kit, introducing demos of OutRun2, FIFA 2005 and Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3 to the package in place of the old ones.

Of course, if you're not prepared to make the leap to Xbox Live for a whole year, you can of course pick up one of any number of games offering a free two-month trial, including FIFA 2005, OutRun2, Rainbow Six 3 and a host of others. Just look for a "two months free" sticker on the front.
