No new Bond game until 2008

Another Guitar Hero, though.

Those of you expecting Activision to turn around its first James Bond game with the sort of reckless pace associated with some of the licence's recent offspring may be pleased to learn that the publisher has other plans.

Speaking in a conference call, reported by GameSpot, chairman and CEO Bobby Kotick noted that next James Bond film after Casino Royale is being targeted for May 2008. "That is where we would focus to have our first game," he said. In other words, there'll be no quick-fire Casino Royale game.

Kotick also noted that an "all-new Guitar Hero" would be released following Guitar Hero II in the company's fiscal 2008 - i.e. sometime after April 2007.

Kotick also noted that Spider-Man 3, Shrek 3 and Transformers would be there quickly after the start of fiscal 2008, followed by Tony Hawk's Project 8, Call of Duty and Marvel.
