Mizuguchi's studio to dev MMOs

For South Korea and China.

Q Entertainment, the studio founded by Rez and Lumines creator Tetsuya Mizuguchi, has announced plans to enter the massively multiplayer online gaming market.

A spokesperson said that the company intends to focus on developing MMOGs for South Korea and China, where online gaming is hugely popular - the Chinese market alone was worth and estimated USD 100 million last year, a figure which is set to rise sharply.

Q Entertainment will also expand its operations in the mobile gaming market. Both Lumines and Meteos have already been licensed to mobile content publisher GameLoft for release in early 2006.

Q Entertainment was founded by Mizuguchi, who was previously a member of Sega's AM3 team, in 2003. The studio is currently working with Phantagram and Microsoft on Xbox 360 title Ninety-Nine Nights.
