New Xbox 360 Arcade this August?

4GB model shows up on Amazon Germany.

Microsoft is planning to launch a new Xbox 360 Arcade model in Europe this August, according to a new listing on Amazon.de.

The listing for "Xbox 360 4GB Arcade System Bundle" (thanks Kotaku) points to a 20th August release date and reportedly mentioned a €149 price point, although that seems to have disappeared since.

The platform holder has previously said it intends to release a new Arcade model based on the revised Xbox 360 for the US market.

However, Xbox UK boss Neil Thompson cast doubt on European plans for a new Arcade in an interview with Eurogamer at E3.

"The Elite model we'll slowly phase out, but we're continuing with the Arcade model as it stands," he told us, although it wasn't clear whether he meant in the new form factor or not.

We've contacted Microsoft for comment.
