New Battle of the Bulge game out today on iOS

Called Desert Fox: The Battle of El Alamein.

Did you like war strategy game Battle of the Bulge on iPad? We did. A lot. Not only was it a "hugely enjoyable strategy game", wrote Richard Stanton, it used its Second World War source material in a way that "enraptured" him.

A brand new game based on Battle of the Bulge, made by the same developer - Shenandoah - is coming out tonight. It's called Desert Fox: The Battle of El Alamein, and it costs $9.99. And it should be better in nearly every way.

It's based in Northern Africa where German genius Erwin Rommel - the Desert Fox - and Bernard Montgomery locked horns.

"This is not just Battle of the Bulge in desert camo," states the game's FAQ. There are two - more nuanced - standalone campaigns to fight through and much better tutorials for people like me, scared they're too thick to play.

Then, when you've got the hang of it, you can take other people on online - or locally.
