Activision reveals NASCAR Unleashed

UPDATE: "No plans" for Europe release.

UPDATE: Activision has told Eurogamer there are "currently no plans" for it to publish the game in Europe.

ORIGINAL STORY:

A brand new NASCAR game, NASCAR Unleashed, will be released across the US this autumn.

It's in development for 3DS, PS3, Wii and Xbox 360. There's no mention of the developer. There's also no mention of a European release.

NASCAR The Game 2011, released in March in the US, was denied a European launch despite being made by UK studio Eutechnyx.

Eutechnyx is now making racing free-to-play MMO Auto Club Revolution. An autumn date allows NASCAR Unleashed a maximum of nine months development time, assuming the project started after NASCAR The Game 2011 was released.

NASCAR Unleashed will flex the sport's biggest courses as well as allow gamers to leave the tracks and tear around surrounding surburbia.

Eurogamer's NASCAR The Game 2011 review review awarded 6/10.

"Many will leave disappointed, yet the more reasonable should still welcome this faithful yet flawed interpretation of their sport," wrote reviewer Joao Diniz Sanches.
