Murdered: Soul Suspect headed to Xbox One

UPDATE: And PS4. All versions to launch in June.

UPDATE 16.01PM: After Microsoft's earlier reveal of Murdered: Soul Suspect on Xbox One, publisher Square Enix has confirmed a PlayStation 4 version of the game is also in the works.

Next-gen versions will boast "native 1080p output" - but at what frame-rate? The new consoles will also offer elements such as subsurface scattering and an increased particle count.

All versions of the game will arrive in June, Square Enix confirmed.

ORIGINAL STORY 09.09AM: Ghostly detective title Murdered: Soul Suspect will also be released on Xbox One, publisher Square Enix has revealed.

PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game were announced last year for release sometime in the first half of 2014.

There's no mention of a PlayStation 4 release, or what differences (if any) there'll be between old and new-gen versions.

Soul Suspect sees you placed in the translucent shoes of a gunned down detective as he pieces together clues to solve his own murder. You'll be able to walk through walls, possess people and coax them into sharing information.

Oh, and the whole thing takes place in Salem, so there are demons too.

The game is the work of Quantum Conundrum developer Airtight Games, which stopped by EGX last year to walk us through the first level of the game - it's worth a watch if you want to see the core game mechanics mapped out.
