Modern Warfare 3 PC to use Steamworks

Steam taking pre-purchases now.

The PC version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will use Steamworks, Valve has announced.

Both digital and boxed versions of the game will be powered by Valve's platform, with support for offline play, auto-updating and achievements.

As previously reported, Modern Warfare 3 PC will also have dedicated server support from launch.

The latest installment in Activision's FPS behemoth is available for Steam pre-purchase now, ahead of its 8th November launch.

In contrast, arch rival Battlefield 3 won't appear on Valve's store. You'll need to sign up for EA's Origin service to enjoy DICE's shooter.
