Minter's Minotaur marauds onto iPhone

Hoofer it up.

Jeff Minter's wacky new creation Solar Minotaur Rescue Frenzy has been released on the App Store.

The game, a spin on Asteroids, costs a paltry 59 pence.

It's designed for both iPhone and iPad and is compatible with 3GS, iPhone 4 and iPod Touch (3rd/4th gen) devices.

Up to four people can play simultaneously on iPad - a number that's halved on iPhone.

The idea of Minotaur is to use a spacecraft to blast asteroid rocks apart, revealing precious Minotaur creatures that need flying to and rescuing, a manoeuvre performed with a swipe of a finger. Two extra modes - Tanks! and Jets! - provide variations on the theme.
