Microsoft pulls Fez patch

"YAY GAME DEVELOPMENT!"

Microsoft has pulled the Fez patch that last week caused some players' save files to corrupt.

"UPDATE : CRISIS SEMI-AVERTED!" began a post on the Polytron website.

"Microsoft has pulled the patch out of Live for now, so at least the problem won't affect new users.

"We're trying to find out what happened and fix it as soon as possible. Like, in less than two months.

"YAY GAME DEVELOPMENT!"

Fingers crossed "two months" is a joke.

Last week, after discovering the patch corrupted save files, Phil Fish's company Polytron said it was "floored" the problem wasn't flagged up in testing.

"For the moment, deleting your system cache should resolve the issue, but if that fails, there is no known workaround. We'll keep you updated on the situation."
